The University of Maine at Augusta is the third largest and one of the fastest growing campuses within the University of Maine System. UMA offers courses and support services to commuter students of all ages from a wide variety of educational and cultural backgrounds.
UMA offers academic programs in the liberal arts, fine and performing arts, nursing and allied health, business, computer information, social services, and a variety of other areas. Students can earn certificates, associate degrees, and baccalaureate degrees, or may attend for personal growth and development. UMA is particularly committed to Maine's adult population, many of whom attend on a part-time basis. UMA offers a full array of courses and programs at centers and sites throughout the sixteen counties in the State of Maine.
The University of Maine at Augusta employs approximately 100 full-time faculty, 100 professional and technical staff, and approximately 100 support staff at its Bangor and Augusta campuses. In addition to UMA's full-time faculty, the University offers courses that are taught by a corps of dedicated part-time, adjunct faculty, many of whom are professionals employed elsewhere. UMA's part-time faculty are known for sharing their knowledge and expertise with UMA's highly motivated students.
