About Us
Necessary Technology was founded in 2005 when founder Jarrod Maxfield returned home, after spending 5 years out of state, with the idea to start and build a new business to help Mainers. After many ideas ,some pretty good and some pretty bad, computer repair bubbled to the top since "as long as people have computers they will have computer problems". Then from a small second floor office on Forest Avenue Necessary Technology was launched.
Since then we have served tens of thousands of local customers, moved into a few larger spaces as we have grown and learned a lot along the way that has made us better and better.
We have added services as technology has changed and so with it our customers needs. In 2005 who could have imagined fixing a broken iPad screen or setting up Automatic Backups to the Cloud. We are constant learners on behalf of our customers.
We serviced Windows PCs starting in 2005 and in 2013 we finally cracked and started offering the full line of Mac and Apple Services and in 2016 we became an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
The reason we have stuck around while others have come and gone is because we learned that outside of just fixing a technology problem, customer service is the most important component to a happy experience for our customers.
2021 is bright with growth and we look forward to helping more and more members of our local community.
To deliver our customers the best repair and customer service in the area with an experience that creates satisfaction, trust and results that leave them happy.
