*Who We Are *

Our Main Street location in Middlebury Voted one of 2016 Best Places to Work in Vermont, the Counseling Service of Addison County (CSAC) is a local community mental health center located in Middlebury, Vermont. Since 1959, CSAC has been an integral part of the Addison County community, committed to promoting stable and safe communities by helping people live emotionally healthy lives.

We work collaboratively with community organizations to help individuals and families achieve maximum wellness. CSAC is unique in that it has mental health, youth and family, outpatient and developmental disability programs. In the next year, we hope to move into a brand new building, giving new space and brightness to our great work.

At CSAC, we are able to provide a multi-disciplinary approach that draws on the expertise of our staff, which includes persons trained in developmental services, substance abuse treatment, psychiatry, psychology, mental health counseling, social work, family therapy, and child therapy.

*Working Here * The Counseling Service of Addison County (CSAC) has a wide range of mental health and developmental disability programs. We offer many jobs with flexible hours. Our staff of more than 300 employees enjoy the benefits of working for a large organization. We offer Intern Programs, have two full-time psychiatrists on staff, and a 24-hour Emergency Team.

Our positions are in a job classification system making it easy to view a position's level of responsibility. Employees can advance from within and we practice hiring internally as much as possible.

*Training/Events: *

  • We offer extensive paid training in each of our positions
  • Our company parties include:
    • Agency Picnic in the summer
    • Holiday Luncheon in December
    • Other division parties throughout the year
    • Our parties and events are open to staff and consumers (so you don't need to find coverage if you have to work, you can bring the individual(s) you are working with to the parties).
  • In addition to Staff Appreciation Weeks, we have an Annual Meeting each November where various awards are presented to staff and community members.

Our dress code varies depending on the program/department that you are working for, but we ask that people dress professionally in a business casual environment.
