About Us

A casual conversation between two friends in 1991 resulted in the present-day, 323-acre Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. That conversation quickly grew to include our original seven founders and then a number of others, all of whom contributed personally to buy the land on which the Gardens sits. To celebrate our original founders, these seven pin oaks were planted to symbolize that “mighty oaks from acorns grow.”
