While Central Maine Credit Union prides itself on providing quality financial services to our members, we also play an active role in the community. Many staff members and volunteers participate throughout the year in local charitable events and serve on Boards and committees for various organizations in the area. We also offer a national award-winning savings program for children with our Monty Moose Youth Savers Program.

Central Maine Credit Union believes in promoting from within. 85% of our supervisory and managerial positions are filled by former staff. Many employees have joined our organization in entry positions and have worked their way up to management positions.

We offer on-going training within departments and monthly training for all staff. Webinars and conferences are attended by staff when appropriate for their positions.

Central Maine Federal Credit Union was organized in October of 1950.

Located at 1000 Lisbon Street, Lewiston, Maine, our field of membership includes everyone who lives, works, attends a school or worships in Androscoggin County, Maine.

Central Maine Federal Credit Union has earned Bauer Financial, Inc's highest 5 - Star rating.

This signifies that our credit union is one of the strongest credit unions in the nation. Central Maine FCU is a safe, financially sound credit union that operates well above the regulatory capital requirements.

++Community Relations++

Central Maine FCU supports its community by participating in locally sponsored events, charitable fundraisers, educational events and sponsorships. Many employees volunteer their time to participate and represent their Credit Union in the community through these events, and also serve on non-profit boards and committees.

Central Maine Federal Credit Union is a firm supporter of educational programs and offers the annual Dominic J. Roux Memorial Scholarship available to graduating high school seniors, college students, and adult students.

Central Maine FCU's unique Books for Kids Program benefits thousands of children throughout Androscoggin County. The Credit Union has been donating books annually to every public school library within the county since 2002. As an extension of our Books for Kids Program, teams of 2 staff members also volunteer each week to read to the children at Martel Elementary School in Lewiston. Known as the Monty Moose Book Buddies, they enjoy reading to and interacting with the young children.
