Perhaps more than any outlet, Buzzfeed has played an integral role in how we create, discover, and share the news online. They’ve made words like “listicles” commonplace, and while the website has its share of detractors, there’s not denying its position on the precipice of the next cutting-edge trend in the digital media environment. Internships are offered in the fields of business strategy, client services, sales operations, shopping & products, social media, tech & products, engineering, accounting, legal, public relations, agency strategy, sales & business strategy, video and more. Here’s how to get an internship at Buzzfeed.

As with any internship, it’s important to lay the foundation before applying. Beyond that, the application process for a Buzzfeed internship is pretty straightforward.

The first thing you’ll want to do is visit the site’s Jobs page, where all opportunities are listed, internship or otherwise. Internship seekers have the option of filtering results by department and/or location, as the company has international offices located around the world. However, if you don’t have a specific idea in mind, then simply browsing the list of current openings is fine, as it isn’t overwhelmingly long. As of today, there are 13 internships available, some of which take places over the summer, while others happen all-year round. Once you’ve found one which piques your interest, click on it to be sent to an informational overview, where you will find all you need to know about the responsibilities, requirements, and directions for applying.

Each of the internships with have slightly different directives, so it’s important to pay close attention. For example, to apply for the business strategy internship, you are required to be currently enrolled in a 4-year BA/BS program, whereas the tech & products internship asks you to submit a “few paragraphs that explain why you’d be right for the job, as well as three products that you’d recommend to all of your friends.” It’s crucially important to follow these instructions well, so this is definitely not something you should rush through but rather handle with forethought and care. The application is located right there on that same page, and gives you the opportunity to link to any relevant documents or sites that you feel best represent your qualifications and capabilities. After submitting the application, you’re all done.
